How to overcome chronic procrastination?

Procrastination means the action of delaying or postponing something. Let’s look at how to overcome this.

1. Change your thinking.

If you can change your thinking, surely you can change your life. You may change this by making a firm resolution in mind, saying that, I will do it now, I will not delay anything. You repeat these words continuously, whenever you feel that you are trapped by procrastination. Also you can make a note of this in your diary, so that you can later analyze your progress in this area. This cycle of action will get into your subconscious mind and make you a person who does things faster and completes many actions within a short time period.

2. Complete your biggest task first and foremost which is ahead of you and maybe irritating you which may double your productivity.

It is always an uphill task to complete your most daunting task sitting ahead of you which is interrupting all your progress. Do not delay any moment to complete that first as it is preventing you from staying like a wall. That will give you lots and lots of confidence within yourself. This will open up many doors of great opportunities. It is important to remember that we cannot manage time but we need to manage our activities or life so that we beat the time to win the opportunities by prioritizing which is to come first, next and so on and so forth. You can simply double your productivity here by your order of choices.

How to use your Time effectively?

  • Focus on things that will have the most immediate and beneficial impact on your life right now.
  • Ask yourself, “What are the consequences of doing or not doing this?” If the consequences of not doing things is RELEVANT, then do not do that, and do the things that has serious and immediate consequences.
  • Plan each day in advance
  • Set priorities in your items, so that you don’t skip your most important task.

When you start your day with the most important work, that will accelerate your day and the level of approaching the other work on that day will be increasing significantly.
